Seiko Unveils the Prospex Diver Scuba Mechanical Polygonal: A Watch for Any Occasion
Seiko has done it again! Introducing the Prospex Diver Scuba Mechanical Polygonal—a fresh addition to the Prospex Diver’s lineup, and it’s got a bit of everything. This one’s designed to be versatile, blending the robust feel of a sports watch with the elegance of a dress watch. It’s something you could wear diving, but also wouldn’t look out of place at dinner.
Unique Polygonal Bezel with a Practical Edge
First off, let’s talk about that polygonal bezel. It’s not just a unique look; the contrasting curves make it easier and quicker to turn—perfect for timing underwater or just for a bit of on-wrist fidgeting (we’ve all been there!). Seiko’s added a bit of edge to this piece, both in design and functionality, and it really shows.
This new model is available in three dial colours that are easy on the eyes: Pearl White, Coastline Cobalt, and Ocean Grey with a touch of Bronze. Each dial has a calm, coastline-inspired texture that looks especially good under the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. And for those who like to get their watches into dimmer environments, Seiko’s Lumibrite-coated hands and indices have you covered, making everything easy to read.

A Solid Automatic Movement and Built to Dive
Inside, Seiko’s using their in-house 6R55 automatic movement, so you’re getting a reliable three-day power reserve and an accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. It’s a dependable workhorse that’s been in other Prospex models, and it’s nice to see Seiko sticking with something trusted and true.
At 41.25mm in case size, this watch feels like a good fit for most wrists. Plus, the mirror-finished surfaces give it a nice sheen without being too flashy. And for those interested in the diving aspect, it’s water-resistant up to 300 meters and meets the ISO standards for diving, so it’s ready for some serious underwater time.
